If you're like us, you don't want surprises when you travel. That is, unwanted and unexpected surprises! We have traveled many times to Punta Cana and tend to stay in all-inclusive resorts so there's no worrying about how to get where, when.
Once you decide on a location and you book your trip, you need to have a list that has been approved by others who have traveled to the destination so that you're bringing the right items. You will find what you need here!
Our suggestion is to take the clothes that you think you're going to wear and divide it in half. We have traveled many times and have found that we rarely use all of the clothing we bring. It's our suggestion to plan for the trip then cut 1/2 of the clothing out- only take 1/2 of what you think you'll need. When on a trip you never need as much as you think you do!
Bathing suit
Daily clothing- remember pack 1/2 of what you think you'll need and check the resort's dress policy for what to wear to restaurants
Bag for the beach
Hats
Money holder for tips- waterproof (this is especially important for the swim up bars)
Ones and fives for tipping- take approximately $200 in tips for a 7 day trip ($150 in ones and $50 in fives- USD)
Headphones/earbuds
Charging block and/or plug in charger for phone and earbuds- the normal plugs work fine in Punta Cana
Medicine (pack this in a clear bag in the original bottles and put it on your carry on)
Insulated tumblers- this is especially important!! If you order a drink, the staff will put it in your tumbler which will stay cold longer and the drinks are bigger that way, better than the drink being provided in a small plastic cup
Antacid
Pepto Bismol
Tylenol
Extra soap
Extra shampoo and conditioner
Books
These are the items we take with us every time. Do you have other suggestions? Please contact us to have them added to our list!
